Eight Launceston Band Members in Cornwall Youth Brass Band.

Four members of Launceston Youth Band recently auditioned for a place in Cornwall Youth Brass Band. Louise Dingle, Eb bass, Holly Whale, euphonium, Ellie Joy, fugal and Alina Nuta, tenor horn, were all offered a place at their audition. They join four other members of Launceston Youth Band, Grace Denford, cornet, Samantha Baker, cornet, Josie Whale, tenor horn and Katie Parkin, percussion, who have been accepted in the past two years.

100% music theory successes

5 young musicians recently celebrated the continued successes of their Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music Theory

exams.

Holly Whale, who is 10 years old, passed grade 2 with merit and sisters, Cathryn and Charlotte Nuta, also 10 years old, both

passed their Grade 1 exam with merit. Congratulations also go to 12 year old Josie Whale on passing grade 3 and Alina Nuta

passing Grade 5, also only 12 years old. Their music tutor, Julie Dobson, is delighted with their results which highlights their

dedication and commitment to their musical progress and development.

 

 

 

Anyone wishing to learn music theory or brush up on their music knowledge with the aim of passing their ABSRM exams  should contact Julie Dobson

Launceston Town Band celebrated their annual award dinner in style on Saturday 28th January at the Eagle House in Launceston where members, family and friends were

joined by Mayor, Rob Tremain and president John Ware.
