Colin Gay...

...started playing at the age of 6 as a junior in Gillingham Imperial Silver Band under the tuition of S.F. Tranter...progressed through juniors to senior band on baritone successfully taking part in many solo and quartet contests. Moved to trombone at the age of 14 & held the principle seat in the band whilst they progressed from the 4th section to 1st section nationally. Was asked to teach the junior band at Shaftesbury and took them to contests achieving many sucesses. On moving to Cornwall in 2000 Colin joined Launceston Town Band and was  appointed M.D at Bude Town Band. On leaving the Bude Town Band he was a founder of Bude Metric Brass. Colin is very proud to be appointed as M.D. of Launceston Town Band and hopes to build the band back up to it's former level.
